4 cars to choose from ALL with 40 MPG.

Happy (Hyundai) Monday, have I got great news for you. Just like you, Ben and I will probably be looking for a new car this summer, he has an old non-Hyundai that has A LOT of miles on it and a wildly stubborn check engine light. Sound familiar? The cool thing is that Hyundai, this summer, will have a [drumroll please] total of four cars to choose from, all with 40 MPG or better. Wow, way to go. Here's what you get to choose from:

The 2012 Hyundai Veloster - to hit showroom floors this summer!

The 2012 Hyundai Accent, also coming this summer, perfect for your compact college student or top dog commuter that will be able to bank from the extra mileage. Saving for success is key.

Oh Jeez, the Sonata Hybrid. This one is a quiet prowler on the roads saving you trips to the gas tank but taking you to the bank. As one of the most affordable Hybrids out there, we are thinking of YOU.

And this little beauty: the 2011 Elantra. I don't think I have enough time or space to boast about this car. It is nearly perfect. So much space in this car with all 4 heated seats. The gas mileage is not the only impressive part.
To add to our awards & accolades list the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) recognized Sonata & Hyundai on its 2011 Greener Choices List and the Hyundai Elantra is on it's Environmentally Friendly Vehicles list.

Luxury wrapped in Value. how flattering!

"It is a rare occasion these days to get more for your money, to find that the material things you hanker after are actually affordable." --Byron Shire News

Go ahead, guess what he was writing about! You got it, Hyundai. And although this author is certainly writing about Hyundai Australia, America is saying the same thing. If you are reading this from your Hyundai (shame on you, focus on the road), Congratulations! If you are reading this from your home or your work where your Hyundai is parked outside, way to be. Although I currently have the flu, I can still hold my head high because I am working my Hyundai Sonata on the road and supporting one of the best carmakers out there.

Sonata Wagon expected in Europe.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your savings accounts (at motozuma)

This car is super sweet!

Yes, this car may or may not come out in the US. It's true. But it is beautiful! Start a petition or something. It's hitting Europe soon, based on sales they will see if it makes it "stateside." Hopefully, you, me and everyone else will be dropping our kids off to school and going golfing with this beauty. Keep your fingers crossed, say your prayers and maybe just maybe it will be in our showroom in...well I don't know when.

Happy 25th Birthday Hyundai USA!

Happy Birthday Hyundai USA!

It just so happens that this year myself and many of my close friends...and now Hyundai USA hit the 1/4 Century mark. Congratulations to us.

Read the 25th Birthday Press Release!

Get this, not only does Hyundai work to promote and sell their award winning, fuel efficient, safety test approved cars, but they also are helping fight cancer. Stop it. I just can't take all the gushy feelings.

"Hyundai's pursuits are not limited to the automobile. Hyundai Hope on Wheels is the united effort of Hyundai Motor America and its more than 800 dealers across the U.S. to help children fight cancer. We are dedicated to raising awareness about childhood cancer, celebrating the hope of the brave children battling the disease and finding a cure through our support of the best pediatric cancer researchers in the country. A portion of every Hyundai sold goes directly to this fight and more than $23 million have been donated since 1998."

Go Hyundai! Here's to hoping this car is in our future? I meant to write a question mark.

Are you a Commuter? Check Here.

Hyundai Sonata Named a Best Car for Commuters by Forbes

Forbes Claims, “More than 42 million Americans spend at least 30 minutes in the car on their morning commutes. Seven million spend over an hour,” said Forbes auto reporter, Hannah Elliot. “For that kind of time spent in traffic, it pays to have a reliable car: something spacious enough for comfort, small enough to get good gas mileage and durable enough to withstand the occasional fender-bender. This year mid-size sedans like the $19,395 Hyundai Sonata are best for surviving the slog.”

Think about it, what do you want to be rolling into your parking space at work in? If I have to spend over an hour in my car each day, I something nice [& probably red].

Stylish & Fuel Efficient Cars Just Cost Less

Daily Finance declares "Hyundai's U.S. Sales Soar thanks to stylish, fuel efficient designs."

Last year was a rough year for car sales. But not for Hyundai. Hyundai's sales grew 24% last year and sold 540,000 units. Congratulations & Thanks to those who made this possible. Hyundai has had some rough years, but just as the child who was severly awkward in middle school grew up to be relatable so Hyundai has learned from their own trials & tribulations.

Not only this, but also Hyundai is coming out with 6 new cars in 3 years, they are creating their own steel to make lighter cars that reach government MPG requirements and they just sell really nice, well priced cars.

Eckert Hyundai is making it's own advances, too! We are currently located in a new building, only one year old, which allows us to hold more cars, service more cars and help you find the perfect car to stylize your driveway!

One of the Top 10 Coolest Cars under $18K

Remember mom's station wagon?

Revamped: Hyundai Elantra Touring. Heard of it? With all of the hype about the new Elantra & Sonata, it seems we have forgotten one of the more sensible (and by sensible I mean cool) cars today. Kelley Blue Book named this car one of the Top 10 Coolest Cars under $18,000!

Ok, so first off this car made me nostalgic for the days of riding in the very back seat of my mom's Oldsmobile Station wagon where the back seat faced out and you could wave at other cars. Lots of happy memories there.
The second thing I noticed? The space! The space was incredible! It seemed as though there was an echo. I personally would love to be driving an SUV right now, with what seems like the endless amount of stuff my husband and I lug around town, but it's just not practical. This car is practical. Practically shouting, "take me home!"

So many storage compartments and you better believe that the fully loaded Elantra Touring is still under $20,000. You can take it home. And with a hatchback you could take your whole neighborhood home, too.

Check out Eckert Hyundai's selection of Elantra Tourings, I think you'll be surprised & delighted with the space, quality and price of this one!

Every once in a while.

Sometimes I feel as though it's appropriate to brag about our dealership a little, just a little bit. But at the same time, this is pretty much a blog coming directly from the dealership so it makes sense.

I spoke with Mark Eckert (co-owner) this morning to hear all the HOT Eckert Hyundai News. And you'll be glad to know a few things...
  1. In coming are the mother load of 2011 Hyundai Sonata SE & Ltd models. The SE and Limited models can include lots of features, such as: sunroof, alloy wheels, 90-day complimentary (which also translates to 3 MONTHS FREE) XM Radio which even includes weather traffic and sports, premium speakers & subwoofers and for a bit more of an upgrade: a navigation system. Yes!
  2. Did you watch the Superbowl? Are you drooling a little over the new Elantra? Well, we have over 20 2011 Hyundai Elantras for you to choose from. I am nearly 100% positive we will have the right interior/exterior match you so desire. Just come in early for the best selection.
  3. And we currently have the BEST selection of 2011 Hyundai Tucsons. You'll never believe it but we have over 30 in stock (well, today I guess until people read this) for you to pick from. Oh, this cross-over is praised and delightful to drive.
  4. On a last, but most important note. Our team of salesmen made their very own set of Golden Rules to help boost your confidence in the car buying adventure.

New Coupe...?

who doesn't just love a possible new car design sketch? oh, we do! Ask me how you could possibly design something that hasn't been created or released to the public yet? I don't know, but I sure like it because as we have all experienced I am not a patient person.

I, like you, would like a new car now. And I, like you, want to play my cool card at my next group outing and tell my friends that I have seen the sketches for the New Hyundai Elantra Coupe. Don't you? Well here you go...Valentine's Dinner Conversation. Girls, amaze your husbands. Men, tell your wives this casually, and then proceed to talk about how beautiful your wife/girlfriend/first date is the rest of the night. Unless they are a car junkie like I have become.

Thank you Theophilus Chin, whoever you are, I will check your website more often now.

Happy Valentines Day, People!

Carmaker, extraordinaire...guess what else is up their sleeves.

Did you know that in the U.S. new regulations will require that by 2016 the average MPG for carmakers entire fleet is changed from 27 MPG (current) to 35.5 MPG? And in the year 2025 it will be up to 62?
Whoa, America, we've got some changes to make. Now, I realize that they're saying "fleetwide" which means the average of all of the cars that one automaker creates must have an average of 35.5 MPG. But that really means that you can't just have gas-guzzlers hanging around your lot anymore, they'll throw off the curve. Unless you create 8 smart cars in the line...yikes.
I don't know what Ford, Dodge, Toyota and Honda are going to do about these changes (all of them have some serious gas chugging pick up trucks) but I do know what Hyundai has already done. They have opened 2 of their very own steel plants, with one more in the works.

“We’re the only car company that has its own steel plant,” said John Krafcik, chief executive of Hyundai Motor America. “We recognized a few years back that the key to meeting these incredible fuel efficiency targets — and keeping cars that are fun to drive and making them affordable — is great, lightweight, low-cost, structurally sound steel, which we weren’t able to get from the handful of steel suppliers in the industry who supply other automakers. So we boldly decided to turn our backs on convention and build our own steel plant.”

I guess Henry Ford knew best.

Some things to get your Wednesday kick started....

Born and raised in Chicago, I couldn't tear my eyes off of these pictures. My poor family had to dig themselves out of their homes. (thanks, kicking tires)

Also couldn't help noticing that the 2011 Hyundai Elantra Review from the SAME website was one of the most researched. Come in and pick one up yourself!

Aaaah, check this out! Hyundai is trumping their competitors by, "reporting monthly sales-weighted Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) results to provide journalists, policy-makers and consumers with additional data to promote more meaningful dialogue on the feasibility of future fuel efficiency targets for the industry…" Read this article on everything Hyundai is doing to make their facts fit their message.

"I’d say the biggest problem Hyundai faces in the next year is figuring out how to build enough Sonatas and Elantras to meet customer demand; for an automaker, there are far worse problems to have." --Kurt Ernst, ridelust.com

Buy a safe car & save on insurance.

The good Lord knows we all need to save money where we can.

This year the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) chose 66 cars for their Top Safety Pick Award for 2011. This number has doubled in size from last year when they upped the requirements for roof reinforcement. This year Hyundai had several winners (woohoo!) amongst them were the Hyundai Sonata, Santa Fe and Tucson.

In order to win the Top Safety Pick Award your vehicle must earn good ratings for crash tests in front, side, rollover and rear and must have electronic stability control or ESC.

Here's the plan: to save money on your insurance just purchase a Hyundai! Vehicles that did well in safety tests will lead you to better car rates, your insurance agent encourages these purchases, so you can drop your monthly payment.

Super Bowl Ad Recap.

Some of my favorite Ads weren't shown! Don't worry I'll post them here for you.
Here are the 3 they aired during the Super Bowl.

Try to relax.

Allow Hyundai to work their magic on you.

and then get them with laughter.

Here are the ads they didn't air...

Boring is sexy? mmm, no. Read my 2011 Elantra Review

Ba-a-a-a-a-d compact cars. The Hyundai Elantra is not your average compact car.

my personal favorite.

Which one do you like best?

She'll Be Comin' Round the Mountain....

What climbing the ladder of success looks like.

Sometimes we forget our roots.

Sometimes we TRY to forget our roots.

Lucky for Hyundai no one will let them forget their roots. Don't you remember that bad haircut you got in 3rd grade? How would you feel if someone flashed that in your face each day? (you should know that my picture is posted below, to prove a point - I am on the left, sorry Alli, on the right)

Jeez. Ok, so yes, the Excel was rough. But here's the deal, "Hyundai’s fortunes, and its reputation, have been on the rise in recent years, to say the least, as improved quality and bolder styling — along with recession-friendly pricing and long warranties — helped the company weather the economic downturn better than most of its competitors." And that tidbit of information is from the New York Times. Not only did they write about Hyundai coming back into the picture but also, if you'll notice they wrote a sweet review of the Sonata.

Basically, Hyundai made a mistake (amongst the many mistakes other companies...ahem, Toyota recall-aholics....have made) but they dusted off their little behinds, wiped their tears (not that grown men cry or anything) and made some pretty awesome changes, and they are humble enough to admit they made a mistake. Not to mention they just swiped the 4th spot in Top Global Automakers from Ford. Oops (sarcasm).

Can a person really love a car? Yes, read this Hyundai Lover's comments.
